Plot

The film centers around Stacey and Goody (Krysten Ritter and Alicia Silverstone), two socialite vampires living a good life in New York City. Their lives become complicated when they fall in love with two men while simultaneously being pursued by vampire hunters. Each must make a choice that will jeopardize their immortality. Sigourney Weaver will play vampire queen Ciccerus[2] and Richard Lewis will play an ACLU lawyer.[3] Wallace Shawn and Kristen Johnston play the suspicious parents of Joey (Dan Stevens), Ritter's love interest.[4]

Also starring are Malcolm McDowell as Vlad Tepish, who "enjoys wearing velvet jogging suits and knitting," Zak Orth as Stacy and Goody's nerdy friend and Marilu Henner as a woman who regains her youth.[5] Justin Kirk will play a Russian vampire, while Todd Barry will appear as Ciccerus' loyal assistant.[6]

Cast

Alicia Silverstone was offered the role after Heckerling came to see her in Time Stands Still.[7] Krysten Ritter was Heckerling's first choice for the role of Stacy.[8]

Filming

Filming lasted 37 days in Detroit, while using New York for exterior shots.[8] Red Hour Films is producing the film, alongside Lucky Monkey Pictures.[9]
